My research focuses on political, security, and migration dynamics in West, Central, and North Africa, with a particular interest in the use of innovative methods to study violence and harm.

I have worked for and regularly advise Western governments and international organisations.

Currently, I serve as Head of Research Innovation at the North Africa and Sahel Observatory of the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime.

I am also the co-founder of MyRA, an AI tool designed to help researchers analyse sensitive data ethically and securely.

I am an Honorary Research Fellow at UCL where I guest lecture, and hold a PhD in Security and Crime Science. My previous appointments include Visiting Researcher at the University of Oxford and Visiting Scholar at Yale University.
